Our Story
Ebbett Motors was founded in 1928, originally nestled between a Chinese laundry and a gunsmith’s shop on Hood Street, Hamilton. Starting with popular General Motors brands of the era—Oakland, Oldsmobile, and Chevrolet—our company was built on resilience and determination during the Great Depression. Founded by Alf Ebbett and later joined by his brother Ron, these early years laid the foundation for what has grown into one of New Zealand’s most trusted automotive groups.
