The Ebbett Group sent out the press release below on the 18th of September 2020 to update their customers and community on Isuzu joining their Ebbett Hamilton branch.  The release reads:

Hot on the heels of the Ebbett Group adding Hyundai to their Tauranga dealership, a deal has been struck with Tauranga Motor Company that will see the Ebbett branch in Cameron Road add the Isuzu brand from mid-August as well.

Isuzu, famous for the D-Max ute, will help to replace the sales of new Holden Colorado’s after GM announced plans to discontinue new vehicle sales in NZ by the end of 2020.

Ebbett Group Managing Director, Ben van den Engel, said

“Securing Isuzu, along with Hyundai, for our Tauranga dealership gives us two extremely successful brands to ensure our customers are well catered for once GM stops new Holden sales.  I’ll reiterate that we’re absolutely committed to long-term relationships with our Holden customers but we’re also now well equipped to offer a whole range of premium new vehicles in the Bay of Plenty”.

Ebbett, one of New Zealand’s largest dealership groups, has recently added a number of new brands to their sites around the North Island.  These additions have included Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, MG and now Isuzu, a real confidence boost to local markets having a Kiwi owned and operated business making that sort of investment at this time.

The move of Isuzu Utes to Ebbett ends Tauranga Motor Company’s seven year association with the brand. Managing Director, Mark Jury, says

“Tauranga Motor Company has enjoyed its relationship with Isuzu, and in particular, with our Isuzu customers. We wish both Ebbett and Isuzu Utes well for the future. Our focus now is on the upcoming move of our Kia and Suzuki brands to our new dealership on Hewlett’s Rd, and the coinciding move of our Honda Agency to the high profile 326 Cameron Rd site where we are looking forward to delivering the best experience possible for our customers.”

The Ebbett Dealership, run by Dealer Principal Julian Clements, expects to start selling new Isuzu vehicles from 14th August.
