Available to pre-order. GWM has unveiled the all-new ORA 5 at the Melbourne Motorshow across the ANZ region, a next-generation
compact SUV that marks a significant step forward in the brand's New Energy Vehicle (NEV) strategy and
strengthens its commitment to expanding accessible Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) options for New Zealand
customers.
 
The ORA 5 will launch in New Zealand as a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), aligning to GWM's commitment of
delivering efficient, zero-emissions mobility centred off the ORA platform.
Power comes from a high-efficiency front-mounted electric motor producing 150kW and 260Nm, delivering
smooth, responsive performance suited to both urban environments and open-road driving. Energy is supplied
by a 58.3kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied from supplied by SVOLT, GWM's dedicated EV
battery development division, supporting a driving range of up to approximately 430km (WLTC). Power
consumption is 15.5kWh/100km.
 
or everyday convenience, the ORA 5 supports DC fast charging at up to 120kW, enabling a 30 to 80 per cent
recharge in around 20 minutes under optimal conditions, while AC charging provides practical overnight
replenishment. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality further enhances versatility, offering up to 6kW of external
power output for a range of lifestyle and recreational uses.
 
With a clear focus on value, the ORA 5 SUV enters the market with highly competitive drive-away pricing across
the range, starting from $36,990 for the Lux grade and $39,990 for the range-topping Ultra.
